Embodiments of Divine! Different people today pursue different kinds of Sadhana. To realise the benefits of this Sadhana, they go to Ashrams, adore elders and worship them. As long as egoism remains in them, all these exercises are of no avail. Hence suppress your ego, bury the sense of possessiveness and develop attachment to the Atma to realise your true humanness. In Sai organisations, the primary requisite is unity and mutual trust. Only with unity can you promote the wellbeing of the world. If there is discord within the organisation, how can you serve others? Today, envy, hatred and anger are causing havoc amongst all people. At the outset, destroy your ego. Then anger will subside. Anger is described as incense offered to sin. Make forbearance your ornament. Through love, eliminate your bad traits. Do your duty without projecting your ego. Develop mutual helpfulness. Be friendly towards each other and carry on your work with joy and peace.

Today spiritual exercises are confined to listening and not practising. Listening (Shravanam) has become so popular, and after listening, people brag that they know everything. This crazy boastfulness is deepening one's ignorance. You must ruminate over what you listen. After rumination, one should practice the lessons (do Nididhyasana). Only then you will achieve purity in thought, word and deed. To develop a spiritual outlook and to inspire it in others, you must possess purity of heart (Chitta shuddhi). Spiritual wisdom dawns only when there is purity of heart. Just as removal of weeds, tilling the land, sowing the seeds and watering the earth are required before the crop can be harvested, the field of the human heart has to be cleared of bad thoughts and feelings, the Divine Name sown, watered with love and tilled by spiritual practices. Only then you are entitled to reap the harvest of Divine Wisdom (Jnana).

அக்ரஹாரங்களை காலி செய்யும்போது விட்ட சாபம் இன்றும் நாட்டை எரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

சுமார் 40 வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு அக்ரஹாரங்களில் ப்ராமணர்கள் குடியிருந்தனர்.

கோவில்களில் பூஜை புனஸ்காரம் ஒழுங்காய் நடந்தது. 
தேவாரமும் திருவாசகமும் வைணவ கோவில்களில் ஆழ்வார் பாசுரங்களும் பய பக்தியுடன் பாடப்பட்டன.

மாதம் மும்மாரி பெய்தது.
விவசாயம் சுபிட்சமாயிருந்தது.

பல்வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக பிராமணர்கள் தமிழ்நாட்டை விட்டு விரட்டப்பட்டனர். கல்வி வேலை வாய்ப்பு மறுக்கப்பட்டது.

அவர்கள் மும்பை டோம்பிவிலியையும் மாதுங்காவையும் தங்களது இரண்டாம் அக்ரஹாரமாக்கினர்.
மராட்டியம் வளம் பெற்றது.
இங்கிலாந்து சென்று இன்புற்றனர்.
அமெரிக்கா சென்று ஆனந்தமடைந்தனர்.

அக்ரஹாரங்களில் இறையச்சமில்லா மக்கள் அடிமாட்டு விலைக்கு வாங்கி குடியேறினர்.

கோவில் வளம் குன்றியது.
கடவுளர் கண்டு கொள்ளப்படவில்லை.
கோவில்கள் பாழடைந்தன.
கோவில் சொத்துக்கள் சூறையாடப்பட்டன. வௌவ்வால்களின் பங்களா ஆயின இறைவனிருக்குமிடங்கள்.

அக்ரஹாரங்களில் அந்தணர்களில்லை.
அதனால் மழையும் பொய்த்தது.
விவசாயம் நலிவுற்றது.
குடியானவன் இடம் பெயர்ந்தான் ஒருவாய் உணவு வேண்டி

கிராமங்களும் அழியத்துவங்கின.

தர்மம் என்றால் என்ன என்று தேடும் நிலை வந்தது. விளைச்சல் முடங்கியது.
விவசாயிக்கு உண்டான தானியத்தை அள்ளித்தந்த பிராமணர் புறந்தள்ளப்பட்டனர்.
அதர்மம் தலைவிரித்தாட துவங்கிற்று.

பிராமண துவேஷிகள் கோடிகளில் புரண்டனர். ஆனால் அந்தணர் தளர வில்லை. அழிய வில்லை. கலை, இலக்கியம், விஞ்ஞானம், ஆன்மீகம் மருத்துவம் என்று பல்வேறு துறைகளில் தங்கள் திறமையினால் மிளிர்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர்.

அவர்கள் அக்ரஹாரங்களை காலி செய்யும்போது விட்ட சாபம் இன்றும் நாட்டை எரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

இவை என் சொந்த கருத்துக்கள். அடித்து உதைத்து மிதித்தாலும் என் கருத்துக்களை மாற்றிக்கொள்ள மாட்டேன்.

Adi Shankara stressed the importance of spending time in good company (Satsanga). He taught that for liberation,Satsanga is the first and important step. Here is a small example: if a piece of black charcoal is kept in the proximity of a bright red fire, the area along which this black charcoal is in contact with the bright fire, begins to glow. In this analogy, the black charcoal is your ignorance. The bright red fire is the good company. By the two coming together, only the portion of your ignorance that is exposed to the effects of good company will be dispelled. But if you employ sadhana or spiritual practice as a fan to increase the area of contact, then the entire region of ignorance will be illumined. It is thus not enough if you are merely in the company of good people. You should also develop the sadhana of love, and be loved by the good people. It is necessary to be near and dear to the good people.

Ahimsa (nonviolence) is not merely refraining from causing harm or injury to others. It also implies refraining from causing harm to oneself. How can you ensure this? By constantly examining whether your conduct is right or wrong. For instance, you must examine whether your words are causing pain to others or not. You must see that your looks are not tainted by evil intentions or thoughts. You should not listen to evil talk. All these cause harm first to yourself and then to others. How do you determine what is bad? By consulting your conscience. Whenever you act against the dictates of your conscience, bad results follow. Conscience within you is the form of the Divine within everyone. Whatever you do, your conscience tells you whether it is right or wrong. To ascertain the directive of conscience, you must wait for some time. Before you say something, practice thinking for a moment if it is proper or not and then speak.

Every activity in the world today is centred around money. Request someone to sing a song or do some work for you, they will immediately start bargaining the amount you will pay for their services. Every activity has become a business today, so much so that business has entered the field of spirituality too. There is no necessity to purchase God with money which, of course, you cannot. In fact, you yourself are God. You are endowed with immense divine power. But you have to keep your mind steady. Let it not jump from one thought to another. If you write correct answers in your examination, you will get correct marks. If you have a good mind, everything will turn out to be good. But if there are bad thoughts in you, the result will also be bad. First and foremost, understand the nature of your mind. You can understand the secret of human life only when you understand your own mind. Be Good, Do Good, See Good. Then everything will become good in your life.

Change the angle of your vision. When you practise seeing the world from the point of view of the omnipresence of the Divine, you will get transformed. You will experience the power of the Divine in everything in creation. You cannot hide anything from God. Many imagine that Swami does not see what they are doing. They do not realise that Swami has a myriad eyes. Even your eyes are divine. But you are not aware of your true nature. When you have faith in yourself, you will have faith in God. Realise that there is nothing beyond the power of God. Love God with that supreme faith. Then you will be drawn towards God. It needs purity. A magnet cannot attract a piece of iron covered with rust. Similarly God will not draw to Himself an impure person. Hence, change your feelings and thoughts and develop the conviction that God is everything.

You should have less luggage (desires) in this long journey of life. Therefore, it is said: ‘less luggage more comfort makes travel a pleasure.’ So, ceiling on desires is what you have to adopt today. You have to cut short your desires day by day. You are under the mistaken notion that happiness lies in the fulfilment of desires. But in fact, happiness begins to dawn when desires are totally eradicated. When you reduce your desires, you advance towards the state of renunciation. You have many desires. What do you get out of them? You are bound to face the consequences when you claim something as yours. When you claim a piece of land as yours, then you will have to reap the harvest. This instinct of ego and attachment will put you to suffering. Never ever forget that you will be blissful the moment you give up ego and attachment!

என்னும் சிறு கிராமத்தில் ஓர் இரவில் நடந்த அதிசயம்

வாருங்கள் நானும் உங்களுடன் சேர்ந்து வசந்தநல்லூருக்கு வருகிறேன்
. நாமெல்லாம் கோவிலுக்குச்சென்று அடிப்ப்ரதக்ஷிணம் செய்வோம் நம் வீட்டு நலனுக்கு. ஆனால் மஹாபெரியவா இந்தியாவையே அடிப்ரதக்ஷிணம் செய்தார் நாட்டு நலனுக்கு.

அப்படிப்பட்ட மஹானின் ஓர் அற்புதச்செயல். மஹாபெரியவாளின் நடைப்பயணம் நாம் எல்லாம் அறிந்த ஒன்று.

ஒரு நாள் மஹாபெரியவா தன் கைங்கர்ய சிரோன்மணிகளுடன் திருக்கோவிலூர் என்ற ஊருக்கு நடைப்பயணம் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தார். .பெரியவாளின் வருகையை எதிர்பார்த்து, ஊர் மக்கள் மற்றும் பக்தர்கள் அனைவரும் திருக்கோவிலூர் ஊர் எல்லையில் காத்துக்கொண்டு இருந்தனர்.

எதிர்பாராத திருப்பம்:

திருக்கோவிலூருக்கு சற்று முன்பாக வலதுகை பக்கம் ஒற்றையடிப்பாதை ஒன்று சென்றது. விசாரித்ததில் அந்தப்பாதை, வசந்தநல்லூர் என்னும் சிறிய கிராமத்திற்குச்செல்கிறது என தெரிய வந்தது.

மஹாபெரியவளின் ஸ்ரீகார்ய புருஷர்கள் சொன்னது:

“பெரியவா, அந்த ஊர் மிகச்சின்ன கிராமம். அந்த ஊர்ல தீர்த்தம் கிடையாது..ஊர் மக்கள் அவ்வளவு சுத்தமா இருக்கமாட்டா. ஏற்கனவே மிகவும் நாழியாய்டுத்து. திருக்கோவிலூரில் பக்தர்கள் தெருவுல காத்திண்டிருப்பா!. நாம நேரா திருக்கோவிலூர் போயிடலாம் பெரியவா “என யோசனை சொன்னார்கள்.

அவர்களுக்கு தெரியாதா என்ன. பெரியவா ஒரு முடிவு எடுத்துவிட்டால் அந்த ஈஸ்வரனே வந்தாலும் மாத்த முடியாது. ஏன்னா அந்த ஈஸ்வரனே பெரியவதானே. சரி என்று எல்லோரும் அந்த ஒத்தையடி பாதையில் பெரியவாளை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு செல்லத்தொடங்கினர்.
அந்த ஒத்தயடிப்பாதை மிகவும் வறண்டு போயிருந்தது. சிறிது நேரத்தில் அந்த ஊருக்குள் நுழைந்தனர் .. அப்பொழுது தான் தெரிந்தது அந்த ஊர் மண் மட்டும் வறண்டிருக்கவில்லை மக்களின் தலையும், மனசும், மனசில் இருந்த நம்பிக்கையும் வறண்டிருந்தன..

அப்பொழுது பெரியவா கண்களில் பட்டது .அந்தக்கண்கொள்ளாக்காட்சி.
ஆமாம்
வேப்ப மரம், ஆல மரம், அரச மரம், வில்வ மரம்
என எல்லா மரங்களும்
ஒன்றை ஒன்று பின்னிப்பிணைத்திருந்தன.அந்தக்காட்சி நமக்கு உணர்த்திய உண்மை

"நாங்கள் இயற்கையோடு ஒன்றியும்

தாவரங்களின் நட்போடும் இயைந்து

வாழ்ந்து கொண்டு வருகிறோம்.”

இதை எழுதும்போது என் மனதில் பட்டது

தாவரங்கள் போல் நம் மனித இனமும் ஒற்றுமையுடன் வாழந்தால் நம்மை படைத்த இறைவன் எவ்வளவு மகிழுந்து போவான். பிறப்புக்கும் இறப்புக்கும் இடையில் நடக்கும் போர் ஒரு குருஷேத்திர யுத்தம். சாதனைகள் என்ற பெயரில் அரங்கேறும் வேதனைகள் தான் எத்தனை எத்தனை..இருப்பவன் இல்லல்லாதவனிடம் ஏச்சு பிழைப்பது

அன்னியோன்னியம் அற்றுப்போன ஆத்ம உறவுகள்,

எதிர்பார்ப்புகளின் மறு பெயர் தான் உறவுகளா?

சூரிய உதயத்திற்கும் சூரிய அஸ்தமனசத்திற்கும் இருக்கும் இந்த இடைப்பொழுதில் நடக்கும் வாழ்க்கை என்ற நாடகத்தில் நாமே பாத்திரமாகவும் பார்வையாளர்கவும் நடிக்கிறோம் பார்க்கிறோம். பெரியவா அற்புதத்தின் நடுவில் நம் வாழ்க்கையைப்பற்றியும் நாம் சற்று சிந்திப்போம்..

நாம் அந்த அற்புத அதிசயத்திற்குள் நுழைவோம்.

மஹாபெரியவா வேதபுரி மாமாவை அழைத்து அந்தப்பின்னிப்பிணைந்து வாழ்ந்துகொண்டிருந்த மரங்களுக்கடியில் ஒரு ஓலைக்கொட்டாய் போடச்சொன்னார்கள். கொட்டாயும் போட்டாகிவிட்டது. பெரியவாளும் உட்கார்ந்தாகிவிட்டது. கைங்கர்ய சிரோன்மணிகளை அழைத்து, ஊருக்குள் இருக்கும் பெரியமனிதர்களை அழைத்துவரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டார்.

ஊருக்குள் இருந்த பெரிய மனிதர்களும் பெரியவாளை வந்து வணங்கினார்கள். அந்த ஊர்ப்பெரியவர்களுக்கு பெரிவாளை ஓர் மகான் என்ற அளவில் தான் தெரியும். பெரிவாளும் பெரியமனிதர்களும் பேசிக்கொண்டதை ஒரு சம்பாஷணை வடிவில் தருகிறேன். மிகவும் சுவாரசியமாக இருப்பதற்காக..

பெரியமனிதர்கள்:-: வணக்கங்களும் உபசரிப்புகளும் முடிந்த பின் ஊர்ப்பெரியவர்கள் பெரியவாளை வணங்குகிறார்கள்.

பெரியவா : நான் உங்க ஊர்ல தங்கி பூஜை செய்யலான்னு இருக்கேன். உங்களக்கு எந்த ஆட்சேபணையும் இல்லையே.?

பெரியமனிதர்கள்: எங்களுக்கு எந்த ஆட்சேபணையும் இல்லைங்க சாமி. .இந்த ஊருல மழை பெஞ்சு பல வருஷம் ஆச்சுங்க... சாமி கிட்ட வாய் தவறி தப்பா பேசிடக்கூடாது. கழுவிக்க தண்ணி இல்லீங்க சாமி.

பெரியவா: சரி இன்னிக்கி ஒரு ராத்திரி பார்க்கலாம்.நீங்கல்லாம் போய்ட்டு காத்தால வாங்கோ. ஊர் மக்கள் கலைந்து சென்றனர். பெரியவா அந்த ஓலை பந்தலுக்கு அடியில் உட்கார்ந்து கொண்டு எல்லா திசையிலும் ஒரு பார்வை பார்த்தார். அப்போது மாலை மணி சுமார் ஏழு இருக்கும். பகலும் இரவும் சந்திக்கும் நேரம். பெரியவா வேதபுரி மாமாவை கூப்பிட்டு சில கட்டளைகளை பிறப்பித்தார்.

பெரியவா: ஏன்டா வேதா, வானம் எப்படி இருக்கு பாரு.

வேதபுரி மாமா: பெரியவா! வானம் அலம்பி விட்ட மாதிரி இருக்கு. பிறை நிலா நன்னா தெரியறது பெரியவா.

ராத்திரி பத்து மணிக்கு மறுபடியும் வேதபுரி மாமாவை கூப்பிட்டு " வேதா, ஜில்லுனு காத்து வருது இல்ல.

வேதபுரி மாமா: ஆமா பெரியவா ஜில்லுனு காத்து வருது.

பெரியவா: மழை வர்ற மாதிரி தெரியலை?.

வேதபுரி மாமா:: ஆமாம் பெரியவா மழை வரும் போல இருக்கு.

ஏழு மணி நேரம் தொடர் மழை

சரியா இரவு 11 மணிக்கு பிடித்த மழை மறு நாள் காலை 6 மணி வரை தொடர்ந்து பெய்தது. ஊர் முழுக்க முழங்கால் அளவு தண்ணி..சூரிய உதயத்திற்கு முன் வரும் அருணோதயமும் வந்துவிட்டது.
ஊர் மக்கள் எல்லாரும் கைகளை தலைக்கு மேல கைகளை கூப்பிக்கொண்டு “சாமி எங்களை வாழ வைக்க வந்த தெய்வம நீங்க. இந்த ஊரிலேயே இருங்க சாமி. நாங்க உங்களுக்கு என்ன வேணாலும் பண்றோம்.

பெரியவா: நீங்க எல்லாம் நன்னா இருங்கோ. நான் இன்னும் நிறைய ஊர் மனுஷாளை பார்க்கணும்.நான் கிளம்பறேன்.

ஊர் மக்கள் சொன்ன வார்த்தை

" பெஞ்ச ஒவ்வொரு மழை துளியும் எங்களுக்கு தங்கமாகும் சாமி.

இப்போது புரிகிறதா! அன்று தங்க மழை பெய்தது

இன்று பெய்த மழையே தங்கமானது

பல வருஷத்துக்கு பெய்யாமல் இருந்த மழை, மஹாபெரியவளின் காலடி பட்டவுடன் ஊடலில் இருந்த மண்ணும விண்ணும் ஊடல் மறைந்து காதலில் திளைத்தது. விளைவு விண்ணும் மண்ணும் சேரந்து ஆனந்தக்கண்ணீர் வடித்ததன. ஊர் முழுவதும் மழை நீர் மற்றும் ஊர் மக்களின் அனந்தக்கண்ணீரும் சேர்ந்து ஊர் முழுவதும் முழங்கால் அளவு தண்ணீர்.

மஹாபெரியவாளின் காலடி பட்டவுடன் ஓர் ஊரே உயிர் பெற்றது.

அந்த பரமேஸ்வரன் அவதாரம் நம் பெரியவா என்பது

எல்லாருக்கும் தெரிந்த ஒன்று.

இதற்கு மேல் என்ன வேண்டும் சான்று.

சொல்லக்கேள்வி : இன்று வரை வசந்தநல்லூரில் பஞ்சம் இல்லை.

When your conscience tells you that something is wrong, you should refrain from doing it. You betray your true humanness when you fail to act up to the dictates of your conscience. When one’s words are in accord with one’s thoughts, they become Sathya(truth). When the spoken word is translated into action, it becomesDharma (right action). The basis for both truth and right action is theAntaratma (conscience), the Indwelling Spirit. The thoughts that emanate from the Antaratma or conscience should find expression in speech. If the inner feelings are different from what is spoken, can the words be treated as truth or untruth? Clearly, it is untruth. When one’s action is not in accordance with his words, it is adharma(unrighteous action). Truth and right action are expressions of the promptings from the depths of one’s conscience.

What is it that you can offer to the Lord who is omnipotent, omnipresent and all-knowing? The Lord has endowed you with all his wealth and Divine potentialities. You are inheritors of His wealth. You have to discover what that wealth is. Sai's wealth is nothing but pure, selfless and boundless Love. You must inherit this Love, fill yourselves with it and offer it to the world. This is your supreme responsibility. Embodiments of the Divine! To realise the divine, Love is the easiest path. Just as you can see the moon only with the light of the moon, God, who is the Embodiment of Love, can be reached only through Love. Regard selfless love as your life breath. Love was the first quality to emerge in the process of creation. All other qualities came after it. Therefore, fill your hearts with pure selfless love and lead your life with selfless love as the foundation.

புற்று மண்ணால் ஆன இந்த லிங்கத் திருமேனி வருடத்தில் 3 நாட்களைத் தவிர மற்ற நாட்களில் லிங்கம் பெட்டி போன்ற அமைப்பில் கவசம் சார்த்தப்பட்டு மூடியே இருக்கும். ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் கார்த்திகை மாத பெளர்ணமி நாளில் கவசம் திறக்கப்படும். பெளர்ணமியன்று மாலையில் இறைவனுக்கு புனுகு மற்றும் சாம்பிராணி தைலத்தால் அபிஷேகம் செய்கிறார்கள்.

தொடர்ந்து 3 நாட்களுக்கு இறைவனுக்கு சிறப்பு பூஜைகள் நடத்தப்படும். மூன்றாம் நாள் இரவில் மீண்டும் சுவாமிக்கு கவசம் சாத்தி விடுவர். இந்த நவம்பர் 22, 23, 24 ஆகிய நாட்களில் இறைவனை புற்று வடிவமாகக் கண்டு தரிசிக்க ஏராளமான பக்தர்கள் வருகின்றனர். இறைவன் இங்கு தீண்டா திருமேனியனாகக் காட்சி தருவதால், இவருக்கு அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்படுவதில்லை. ஆவுடையாருக்கு மட்டும் அபிஷேகம் செய்கின்றனர்.

இத்திருத்தலம் சென்னை மாநகரின் வடக்குப் பகுதியில் சென்னை செண்ட்ரல் ரயில் நிலையத்தில் இருந்து சுமார் 8 கி.மி. தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ளது. சென்னை நகரின் எல்லாப் பகுதிகளில் இருந்தும் நகரப் பேருந்துகள் திருவொற்றியூருக்கு செல்கின்றன. புறநகர் ரயில் நிலையமும் திருவொற்றியூரில் இருக்கிறது.

இவ்வாலயம் வெள்ளிக்கிழமைகளில் காலை 5 மணி முதல் இரவு 10 மணி வரையிலும், பெளர்ணமி நாட்களில் காலை 6 மணி முதல் இரவு 9 மணி வரையிலும், மற்ற நாட்களில் காலை 6 மணி முதல் பகல் 12 மணி வரையிலும், மாலை 4 மணி முதல் இரவு 8-30 மணி வரையிலும் திறந்திருக்கும்.

The advice given by gurus during convocations in hermitages was the same - "Mother and Motherland are more worthy of reverence than Heaven. Your parents are sacrificing their comforts and even necessities in order to ensure your progress. It is your duty to revere them and make them happy. Engage yourselves in acts that others will respect and not in acts of which you feel ashamed. Honour the elders. Love your native land." They would exhort: “Consider the Mother as God. Consider the Father as God. Consider the Teacher as God. Consider the Guest as God.” Follow this fourfold exhortation with full faith in its validity, derive bliss therefrom and inspire others by your example, so that the Motherland may progress and prosper. Education must reveal the path that enables one to tap the dormant spring of Divinity within, without getting entangled with the mass of created objects. It must lay stress on spiritual transformation as more fundamental than even moral uplift. The real sign of an educated person is in their attitude of sameness towards all. They must see the society as a manifestation of Divinity. Education does not lead from nature to all-pervading Atma directly. It leads you to study nature, with the unifying Atmic outlook. When the powers of Nature are subjected to narrow selfishness, they recoil on you as plague. When they are revered as revelations of the Atma, they become beneficial to you. Education equips you with this insight. The process by which you forego your freedom and are bound in the net of desire can never be education. True education must aim at ensuring peace and stability through continuous precept and practice of unity in creation.

Today people want to live happily but not lead ideal lives. Parents, for instance, do not set a good example to the children. In the modern age, the father does not instruct the child properly and the child does not pay heed to the words of the mother. Where there are some good children, leading a pious life, the fathers rebuke them saying, "Have you gone crazy? Don't take part in Bhajans or social service." Parents who behave in this manner are like Hiranyakashipu, who could not tolerate his son worshipping Hari. Today we have many parents like Dhritarashtra and Hiranyakashipu, but few who encourage their children to adhere to righteousness. Children today do not relish edifying works like the Ramayana, Mahabharata and the Bhagavatham. They waste their time on reading trash. Parents should see that children do not read bad books. If the nation has to prosper, improvement must start with the parents.

ஏற்க மாட்டேன். அரிசி உடலுக்குப் போதிய ஆற்றலையும் வலிமையையும் தரக்கூடிய அற்புத உணவு. வெள்ளை, பழுப்பு, மஞ்சள், சிவப்பு எனப் பல நிறங்களில் அரிசி உற்பத்தி செய்யப்பட்டாலும், நம் நாட்டில் வெள்ளை அரிசி, பழுப்பு அரிசி, சிவப்பு அரிசி போன்றவையே பிரதானம். ஆனால், இந்தத் தலைமுறையினர் அரிசி பளிச்சென வெள்ளை நிறத்தில் இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறார்கள். அதனால், இப்போதெல்லாம் பாலிஷ் செய்யப்பட்ட அரிசிகளைத்தான் பயன்படுத்துகிறோம்.
அரிசியை பாலிஷ் செய்யும்போதே, அதிலுள்ள நார்ச்சத்து, வைட்டமின், மாங்கனீஸ், பாஸ்பரஸ், இரும்புச்சத்து, கொழுப்பு அமிலங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட எல்லா சத்துகளும் நீக்கப்பட்டுவிடுகின்றன. அரிசியை வெறும் கார்போஹைட்ரேட் உள்ள உணவாக மாற்றியதும், உடலுழைப்புக்கேற்ப உணவை உட்கொள்ளாததுமே அந்த வகையான பிரச்னைகளுக்குக் காரணம். அதேநேரத்தில், அரிசியில் சில அத்தியாவசிய சத்துகள் இல்லை. எனவே, காய்கறிகள், பழங்கள், அசைவ உணவுகளைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்கிறோம். 

The welfare of women is an index of the welfare of a nation.

Study the lives of our great women who were role-models of patience, fortitude, compassion and sacrifice. Since ancient times, the feminine aspect of the Divine is worshipped. Vedas declare: Where women are honoured and esteemed, there Divinity is present in full potency. Unfortunately, today men consider it demeaning to honour women. This is wrong and is a sign of ignorance. Men should give a honourable place to women. The woman is the Goddess of Prosperity for her home (Grihalakshmi), virtuous spouse (Dharmapatni), mistress of the house (Illalu) and the better half (Ardhangi). People gloat over petty titles conferred on them, but these highest titles conferred on women are valid for all times. A home without a woman is a jungle. Men should not make women weep and shed tears. A home where a woman sheds tears will be ruined. Women too, should endeavor to develop qualities of empathy, compassion, love and sacrifice. They should change themselves and help transform men and children.

The human body is like a chariot and the Atma (Soul) is the charioteer. The many million bodies in the Universe may have different forms and names. But the Atma(Soul) is one and the same. It is essential to recognise the unity that underlies the apparent diversity. For instance, hunger is common to all, though the food through which it is appeased may vary from an emperor to a beggar. Likewise, joy and grief, birth and death are common to all. Atma is common to everyone. Recognising this oneness, you must engage in service. Service as an act of Dharma (righteous duty) can be offered only by the one who is pure in heart, selfless and equal-minded towards everyone (Samatva). All opportunities of service should be regarded as an offering to God and every opportunity to serve should be welcomed as a gift from God. When you serve in this spirit, in due course, it will lead you to attain self-realisation.

Without having the right attitude, service done with a spirit of self-conceit is a travesty of service. Eliminate selfishness, which is the cause of dualism and its brood of opposites, joy and sorrow, likes and dislikes, and so on. You must rid yourself of the sense of ‘mine’ and ‘thine’. If your minds are filled with hatred, envy, prejudices and biases, you are not qualified to embark on service activities. "Active workers" (in the Sai movement) should have no feeling of arrogance or ostentation while carrying out the activities. They are indeed the spinal cord of the Sai organisation. As an active worker, you must understand the importance of human values and practice them in your life. You must constantly train yourself to become good men and women, fit to undertake noble tasks. All active workers must be broad-minded, completely free from selfish concerns, and must develop love towards all. Your recipe to experience Divinity must be, ‘Offer services and receive love’.

Preoccupation with one's own welfare and happiness is the bane of the dualistic mentality. It breeds discontent and sorrow. Feelings of attachment and aversion sully the mind. The mind can be purified through service. External observances like bathing several times a day, smearing Vibhuti all over and chanting
 mantras  mechanically will not serve to cleanse the mind of impurities. These are only outward show, with nothing spiritual about them. Transcendental knowledge, which will help to raise man from the animal level, can be got through diligent enquiry and steadfast faith. This is being ignored today. Perceiving untruth as truth and treating truth as untruth, people are immersed in accumulating ephemeral objects, considering them as permanent. You must get out of this narrow groove, outgrow your selfish tendencies and learn to regard the whole of mankind as one family. That is true service. Few have such a large-hearted approach today.

Do not get elated at the riches, status, authority, intelligence, etc., which you may have. Consider that they have been given to you on trust, so that you may benefit others. They are all signs of His Grace, opportunities of service, and symbols of responsibility. Deal sympathetically with the mistakes of others. Seek the good in others, hear only good tidings about them, and do not give ear to scandal. There is this Kaliya episode during the Krishna Avatar. The inner meaning of that is: The serpent Kaliya and its minions are the desires that lurk in the depths of the heart; into that depth the Lord jumps, or rather showers His Grace and the poison is expelled, and the place made safe and pure. When Krishna dances on the hoods, the serpents are tamed and rendered harmless. Without the extinction of desire, one cannot become Divine. Of what avail is it to repeat Shivoham, Shivoham (I am Shiva) when you have not endeavoured to equip yourself with the qualities of Shiva?

Sweet and tender-hearted boys and girls! In our culture we have four injunctions: "Matru devo bhava, Pitru devo bhava, Acharya devo bhava, Atithi devo bhava - Regard your mother, father, teacher and guests as God”. Ever since you entered this world, your mother has loved you, has fostered you with her own blood and wishes for your welfare constantly. So first and foremost you must learn to respect her. Your father protects you and thinks constantly of your future, welfare and prosperity. Hence you should show affection and regards to him too. Mother gives you the body, father shows you ways of protecting and fostering it, but the teacher enables the intelligence in you to flourish. Life does not consist merely of eating. Education is that which shows how one should conduct oneself in society. So the teacher who gives you this ability should be honoured. And the society is the place where all of these can be put to use. Therefore, considering guests as representatives of society, we should offer them the due respect and honour.

Some say that since this is Kali yuga, falsehood alone can succeed. But in spite of all appearances, honesty is still the best policy. One lie must be buttressed by a hundred others; whereas being truthful is easy, safe and simple. It is a hard job to maintain a false stand and so, it is always safe to be straight and honest. Do not take the first false step and then be led, on and on, to perdition. Truth is one's real nature and when you are yourself, there comes a great flood of joy welling up within you. When you deny and deceive yourself, shame darkens your mind and breeds fear. You take the path of falsehood because of the rajasik(passionate) qualities of lust, greed, hate and pride. Contentment, humility, and detachment - these keep you on the path of Truth. Truth will always triumph; do not doubt that in the least.

With the Name as the very breath of your life, you must engage in all life's activities, with no fear of a fall. If you make good use of chanting the Lord’s Name, your life will be sanctified. Whatever work you undertake, do it as an offering to God, chanting His Name. Even while you are walking, think that it is God who is making you walk, since Divinity is present in a subtle form in every atom and cell in this Universe. Unable to recognise this truth, people think, ‘I came by walk, I walked so many miles, etc.’ Such work comes under the physical realm, not spiritual. Hence whatever you think, speak or do, do it befittingly, considering every work as God’s command and God’s work. With that attitude chant any divine name wholeheartedly and sanctify your life. Then every activity you undertake will be successful.

You are most fortunate to participate in this (annual global)Akhanda Bhajan. Do not lose this great opportunity to lovingly sing the Lord’s Name. Meera drank the cup of poison with the Name on her tongue and it turned into nectar. Bhartrihari bewailed his lot, "Lord, these pleasures are eating me up; they don't allow me to be myself. No! I will liberate myself from their clutches. I shall take refuge in the undiminishable bliss, the reservoir of joy, the Lord. I shall not crave for objects (padartha); I shall yearn for the Highest Good (Parartha)". Devotion and faith ensure the gift of knowledge of the Spirit which is the greatest prize for the great adventure of birth, life and death. Endeavour to remember this fact when you sing. Whatever you do, whoever you are, whatever work you perform, you will definitely succeed, provided you do not give up the recitation of His Name with love and devotion incessantly.

There are two kinds of Bhajans - one is Khanda Bhajan and the other, Akhanda Bhajan. The former is for a specific time, like the bhajans held for a limited period either in the morning or evening. On the other hand, Akhanda Bhajan involves constant contemplation on God in the morning, evening or even during the night. It is constant contemplation on God during all the three states - the waking, dream and deep sleep. It is sarvada sarvakaleshu sarvatra Harichintanam - thinking of God constantly, at all times and at all places. The divine name is highly potent. Each one of the several names of God has one type of power specific to it. If you wish to make good use of this power and derive lasting benefit out of it, you have to participate in Akhanda bhajan. In order to attain purity, it is not enough if chanting of the divine name is confined to a limited period. It has to be a continuous spiritual exercise throughout one’s life. Then only the divine name gets imprinted on one’s heart.

Detachment endows you with self-respect, the capacity to stand up to slander and calumny. Some weep at the slightest sign of defeat or disappointment. This is despicable behaviour. Why should you have fear or sorrow, with the Lord installed in the altar of your heart? He is in all beings, at all times. Do you not know He is there, guarding you and guiding you?

தெய்வத்தைக் குறை சொன்ன பக்தருக்கு மகாபெரியவா கருணையுடன் சொன்ன உபதேசம்

"உண்மையிலேயே தெய்வம்னு ஒண்ணு இருக்கா? அப்படி இருந்தா எனக்கு மட்டும் ஏன் இப்படியெல்லாம் நடக்குது?"

உண்மையிலேயே தெய்வம்னு ஒண்ணு இருக்கா? அப்படி இருந்தா எனக்கு மட்டும் ஏன் இப்படியெல்லாம் நடக்குது?

இப்படி தெய்வத்தைக் குறை சொன்ன பக்தர் ஒருவருக்கு காஞ்சி மகாபெரியவா கருணையுடன் சொன்ன உபதேசம்தான் இந்த சம்பவம்.

ஒரு சமயம் மகாபெரியவாளை ஸ்ரீமடத்திற்கு வந்திருந்த கூட்டத்தில் சுமார் ஐம்பது வயது மதிக்கத்தக்க ஒருவரும் இருந்தார்.அந்த நபர் முதல்முறையாக அப்போதுதான் தரிசிக்க வந்திருந்தார்.

வரிசையில் நின்ற அவர் தன் முறை வந்ததும் பெரியவாளுக்கு நமஸ்காரம் செய்தார். எல்லாம் ஏதோ உடனே என்று செய்வது போல்தான் இருந்தது.

நமஸ்காரம் செய்துவிட்டு பிரசாதத்துக்காக கைநீட்டியபடி நின்ற அவரைப் பார்த்தார் மகாபெரியவா. சில விநாடிகளுக்குப் பிறகு அவரைப் பார்த்து, "என்ன சுவாமியையெல்லாம் திட்டறதுல இருந்து,ஒரு வழியா ஓய்ஞ்சிட்ட போலருக்கு.திட்டியும் பிரயோஜனம் இல்லைன்னு தோணிடுத்து. அதனால தினமும் செய்துண்டு இருந்த பூஜையைக் கூட நிறுத்திட்டே இல்லையா?" என்று கேட்டார்.

வந்தவருக்கு அதிர்ச்சி.'நாம் எதுவுமே சொல்லவில்லை. இவரை தரிசிப்பதே இதுதான் முதல் முறை.ஆனால், நாம் இதுநாள்வரை செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும் ,பக்கத்தில் இருந்து பார்த்தவர் மாதிரி பரமாச்சார்யா சொல்கிறாரே!' என்று ஆச்சரியம்

சில விநாடிகள் அப்படியே திகைத்து நின்றவர், உடைந்துபோன குரலில் மெதுவாக பேசத் தொடங்கினார்.

"பெரியவா! சமீபகாலமா குடும்பத்தை ஒவ்வொருநாளும் நடத்துவதே ரொம்ப கஷ்டமான ஜீவனமாயிடுச்சு.பொறுப்பாக உழைக்கத் தயாராக இருக்கிறேன். ஆனாலும் சரியாக வேலையும் கிடைக்கிறதில்லை .தூங்கி எழுந்ததில் இருந்து தூங்கப் போகிற வரைக்கும், பலதடவை மனசாலும், செயலாலும் சுவாமி கும்பிடாத நாளே கிடையாது. ஆனா ஒரு பிரயோஜனமும் இல்லை.கஷ்டப்படுவதைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறாயே, நீ என்ன கல்லா?
மரமா?மட்டையா? என்றெல்லாம் திட்டியும் பார்த்துவிட்டேன்..மத்தவங்க ஒரு தரம் கேட்டாலே ஓடோடி வந்து அருள்புரியும் சாமிக்கு, எங்க சத்தம் மட்டும் பகவான் காதிலே கேட்கவில்லை போலிருக்கிறது. அதான் எல்லாத்தையும் நிறுத்திட்டேன்!" கண் ஓரத்துல நீர் தளும்ப தழுதழுத்தார் அவர்.

பரிவோடு அவரைப் பார்த்தார் மகான்

"ஓரு விஷயம் கேட்கிறேன்.கரெக்டாக யோசிச்சு பதில் சொல்லு ஒரு ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்கு தினமும் எத்தனையோ நோயாளிகள் வருவார்கள்.சிலர் தலைவலி என்று வருவர்.சிலருக்கு காய்ச்சல் வந்திருக்கும். சிலருக்கு வயிற்றுவலி இருக்கலாம். இப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் அங்கே இருக்கும்போது, நச்சுப்பாம்பு கடித்துவிட்டது என்று ஒருவரைத் தூக்கிண்டு வருகிறார்கள் என்று வைத்துக் கொள்வோம். இந்த மாதிரியான சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் டாக்டர்கள் என்ன செய்வார்கள்? யாருக்கு உடனடியாக சிகிச்சை பண்ணாவிட்டால் அப்புறம் அது பிரயோஜனப்படாதோ அவருக்கு சிகிச்சைதரப் போய்விடுவார்கள்.

அதுக்காக சாதரணக் காய்ச்சல்,தலைவலி என்று வந்தவர்களைஅலட்சியப்படுத்துவதாக அர்த்தம் இல்லை. அவர்களுக்கு கொஞ்சம் தாமதமாக சிகிச்சை தந்துக்கலாம். சாதாரண நோயாளிக்கு சிகிச்சை பண்ற டாக்டர்களுக்கே யாருக்கு எப்போ உதவ வேண்டும்கிறது தெரிகிறது என்றால், சாட்சாத் பகவானுக்கு,தன் பக்தர்கள்ல, யாரோட வேண்டுதலுக்கு உடனே
பலன் தரவேண்டும்.யாருடைய பிரச்னையை உடனடியாக தீர்க்க வேண்டும் என்று தெரியாதா? உனக்கு சுவாமியோட கடாட்சம் கிடைக்க தாமதமாகிறது என்றால் உன்னைவிட அதிகமாக அவஸ்தைப்படுகிற யாருக்கோ உதவுவதற்காக சுவாமி ஓடியிருக்கார் என்று அர்த்தம்.அந்த வேலை முடிந்ததும் அவசியம் உனக்கும் அனுக்கிரகம் பண்ணுவார்.அதற்குள் தெய்வத்தை நிந்திக்கிறதும்,பூஜை புனஸ்காரங்களை நிறுத்திவிட்டு நாத்திகம் பேசுவதும் தப்பில்லையா?"

பெரியவா சொல்லச் சொல்ல அந்த நபரின் மனதில் தெய்வத்தைப்பற்றி இருந்த தவறான எண்ணங்கள் கரைந்து ஓட ..அதற்கு அடையாளமாக அவரது கண்களில் இருந்து தாரை தாரையாக வடிந்து ஓடியது கண்ணீர்.

பகவானின் கருணையைப் பற்றி பரமாசார்யா சொன்ன பாடம் அந்த பக்தருக்கு மட்டுமல்ல. நம் எல்லோருக்குமே தான். என்பதை உணர்ந்து கொண்ட பக்தர்கள் உரத்த குரலில் கோஷம் எழுப்பினார்கள்.ஜயஜய சங்கர....ஹரஹர சங்கர..!

குலதெய்வம் தெரியலையா? மஹா பெரியவா விளக்கம்!

குலதெய்வம் குறித்து காஞ்சி மகாபெரியவா விளக்கியுள்ளர். மகா பெரியவர் ஊர் ஊராகச் சென்று சாதுர்மாஸ்ய விரதம் இருந்துவந்தஒருநாள் அது.

அப்படி ஒரு கிராமத்தில் அவர் தங்கியிருந்தபோது, விவசாயி ஒருவர், மகா பெரியவரை மிகவும் பிரயாசைப்பட்டு வந்து சந்தித்தார்.

அவரிடம் துளியும் உற்சாகமில்லை. முகமும் இருளடைந்து போயிருந்தது.

வாயைத் திறந்து தன் துன்பங்களைக் கூற அவசியமே இல்லாதபடி, பார்த்த மாத்திரத்தில் அவரின் துன்பம் மகா பெரியவருக்கு விளங்கி விட்டது. இருந்தும் அந்த விவசாயி,

''சாமி. ஏண்டா உயிரோட இருக்கோம்னு இருக்கு. பேசாம குடும்பத்தோட தற்கொலை பண்ணிக்கலாமான்னுகூட தோணுது. ஒரு மனுஷனுக்கு வாழ்க்கைல போராட்டம் இருக்கும். ஆனா, என் வரைல போராட்டமே வாழ்க்கையா இருக்கு" என்று துயரத்தைச் சொல்லி அழுதார்.

மகா பெரியவா அவரிடம், ''குலதெய்வத்துக்கு ஒழுங்கா பூஜை செய்யறியா?" என்று கேட்டார். குலதெய்வமா? அப்படின்னா?" திருப்பிக் கேட்டார் அவர். ''சரிதான். உங்க குலதெய்வம் எதுன்னே தெரியாதா?" என்றார்.

''ஆமாம் சாமி. வியாபார விஷயமா எங்க முன்னோர்கள் பர்மா போயிட்டாங்க. பல காலம் அங்க இருந்துட்டு திரும்பிவந்த குடும்பம் எங்க குடும்பம். என் பாட்டன்ல ஒருத்தருக்கு கடவுள் நம்பிக்கை இல்லாததால, அவர் பிள்ளைகளும் அவரைப் பார்த்து அப்படியே வந்துட்டாங்க. நாங்கள்ளாம் அந்த வழில வந்தவங்கதான்" என்றார்.

''உன் முன்னோர்கள் யாராவது இப்ப உயிரோட இருக்காங்களா?" என்று கேட்டார் பெரியவா.

''ஒருத்தர் கிராமத்துல இருக்கார். என் அப்பா வழி பாட்டனார் அவர்."

''அவர்கிட்ட போய் உங்க குலதெய்வத்தைப் பத்தி கொஞ்சம் கேட்டுண்டு வா."

''ஏன் சாமி. அந்த சாமி எதுன்னு தெரிஞ்சு கும்பிட்டாதான் என் பிரச்னை தீருமா?"

''அப்படித்தான் வெச்சுக்கோயேன்" என்றார் பெரியவா.

''என்ன சாமி நீங்க. ஊர்ல எவ்வளவோ கோயில் இருக்கு. அங்க எல்லாமும் சாமிங்கதான் இருக்கு. அப்ப அதுக்கெல்லாம் சக்தி இல்லையா?" என்றார் விவசாயி.

''நான் அப்படிச் சொல்லவே இல்லையே!"

''அப்ப இந்த சாமில ஒண்ண கும்பிடச் சொல்லாம, குலதெய்வத்த தெரிஞ்சுக்கிட்டு வரச் சொல்றீங்களே!" என்று வெள்ளந்தியாய்க் கேட்டார்.

''காரணமாத்தான் சொல்றேன். ஓட்டைப் பாத்திரத்துல எவ்வளவு தண்ணி பிடிச்சாலும் நிக்காது. நீ, என்னை மாதிரி எதுவும் வேண்டாம்கற சன்னியாசி இல்லை. வாழ்வாங்கு வாழ விரும்பற குடும்பம்தான். எனக்கு, பாத்திரமே கூட தேவையில்லை. ஆனா, உனக்கு பாத்திரம்தான் பிரதான தேவை. பாத்திரம் இருந்தாத்தானே எதையும் அதுல போட்டு வெக்க முடியும்? அப்படிப்பட்ட பாத்திரம் ஓட்டையா இருந்தா, அதுல எதைப் போட்டாலும் அந்த ஓட்டை வழியா வெளிய போகுமா போகாதா?"

''அப்ப குலதெய்வம்தான் பாத்திரமா. அது தெரியாததால ஓட்டைப் பாத்திரமாயிடிச்சுங்கறீங்களா?" என்று குழப்பத்துடன் கேட்டார் விவசாயி.

''நீ, கேள்வி கேட்காம உன் குலதெய்வம் எதுங்கறத தெரிஞ்சு அந்தக் குலதெய்வத்தைத் தேடிப்போய் சாஷ்டாங்கமா உடம்பு தரைலபட நமஸ்காரம் பண்ணிட்டு வா. உனக்கு அப்புறமா விளக்கமா சொல்றேன்" என்று அவரை அனுப்பி வைத்தார்.

அவரும் ஒரு பத்து நாள் கழித்து, ''சாமி! நீங்க சொன்னதைச் செய்துட்டேன். எங்க குலதெய்வம் பேச்சாயிங்கற ஒரு அம்மன். அதோட கோயில் ஒரு மலை அடிவாரத்துல இடிஞ்சுபோய் கிடந்துச்சு. யாருமே போகாம விட்டதால, கோயிலை புதர் மூடிடுச்சு. நானும் என் மக்களும் போய் புதரை எல்லாம் வெட்டி எறிஞ்சோம். அங்க, ஒரு நடு கல்தான் பேச்சாயி! ஏதோ எங்களால முடிஞ்ச அளவுக்கு அதுமேல பால ஊத்தி அபிஷேகம் செஞ்சு, கற்பூரம் காட்டி கும்பிட்டுட்டு வரேன்" என்றார்.

''சபாஷ். அந்தக் கோயிலை நல்லபடியா எடுத்துக்கட்டு. தினசரி அங்க விளக்கு எரியும்படியா பார்த்துக்கோ! உன் கஷ்டங்கள் தானா நீங்கிடும். பேச்சாயி பூவும் பொட்டுமா ஜொலிச்சா, உன் குடும்பமும் ஜொலிக்கும்" என்றார் பெரியவா!

''சாமி! நிறைய விளக்கமெல்லாம் சொல்றதா சொன்னீங்களே. எதுவுமே சொல்லலியே?"

''அடுத்த வருஷம் இதே தேதிக்கு வா! அப்ப சொல்றேன். நான் சொன்னதை மறந்துடாதே. பேச்சாயியை விட்டுடாதே!" என அருளினார் பெரியவா.

அவரும் அவ்வாறே செய்தார். ஒரு வருடமும் ஓடியது. அவரும் பெரியவரைக் காணத் திரும்ப வந்தார். இந்த முறை அவரிடம் ஒரு செல்வச் செழிப்பு தெரிந்தது. பெரியவரை ஒன்றும் சும்மா பார்க்க வரவில்லை. தட்டு நிறைய பூ, பழம் இவற்றோடு கொஞ்சம் பணம் என்று தான் முன்னால் வந்து நின்றார். பெரியவரும் ஏறிட்டார்.

''சாமி. நான் இப்ப நல்லா இருக்கேன். பேச்சாயி புண்ணியத்துல பிள்ளைகளும் நல்லா இருக்காங்க. இதுக்கு வழிகாட்டின பெரியசாமி நீங்கதான்! ஆனா, எனக்கு விளக்கத்த மட்டும் இன்னும் தராமலே இருக்கீங்க. இந்த அதிசயம் எப்படி நடந்தது?" என்று திரும்ப அவர் கேட்டார். பெரியவரும் திருவாய் மலரத் தொடங்கினார்.

ஒரு வருடம் கழித்து திரும்ப வந்த பர்மாக்கார விவசாயியிடம் 'குலதெய்வம்' என்பது குறித்து மகா பெரியவா சொன்னது மிகவும் கவனமாய் அனைவரும் அறிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டிய ஒன்று!

நம் முன்னோர்கள் வணங்கி வந்த தெய்வம்தான் குலதெய்வம். முன்னோர்கள் என்றால், நமக்கு முன்பிறந்த எல்லோருமே முன்னோர்கள்தான். இங்கே முன்னோர்கள் என்றால், நாம் நம் தந்தைவழி பாட்டன் பாட்டிமார்களைக் கணக்கில் எடுத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். இந்தத் தந்தைவழி பாட்டன்மார் வரிசையில், மிகப்பெரிய ஒழுங்கு ஒன்று இருப்பதை கூர்ந்து கவனித்தால் உணரலாம். அதுதான் 'கோத்திரம்' எனும் ஒரு ரிஷியின் வழிவழிப் பாதை.

பிற கோத்திரத்தில் இருந்து பெண்கள் வந்து இந்த வழிவழிப் பாதையில் நம் தாத்தாக்களின் வாழ்க்கைத் துணையாகக் கை
பிடித்திருப்பார்கள். எக்காரணம் கொண்டும் ஒரே கோத் திரத்தில் பெண் சம்பந்தம் ஏற்பட்டிருக்காது. இதனால், ரிஷி பரம்பரையானது சங்கிலிக் கண்ணி போல அறுபடாமல், ஒரே சகோதரத்துவத்தோடு வந்த வண்ணம் இருக்கும். இது ஒரு முக்கியமான ஒழுங்கு சார்ந்த விஷயமாகும்.

அடுத்து, இவர்கள் அவ்வளவு பேருக்குமே நட்சத்திரம் வேறாக, உடலமைப்பு வேறாக, குணப்பாடுகள் வேறாகவும் இருக்கும். அதுதான் இயற்கையும்கூட!

ஆனால், கோத்திர வழி மாறாதபடி இவர்கள் நம் குலதெய்வம் எனும் தெய்வ சாந்நித்தியத்தில் கைகூப்பி நின்றிருப்பார்கள். தலைமுடி கொடுத்திருப்பார்கள்.

காது குத்துவது போன்ற வழிவழிச் செயல்பாடுகளும் நடந்துமிருக்கும்.

இந்த உலகத்தில் ஆயிரம் கோயில்கள் இருக்கின்றன. அந்தக் கோயில்களுக்கு அவர்கள் போயிருக்கலாம்; போகாமலும் இருக்கலாம். அதற்கு உத்தரவாதமில்லை. ஆனால், குலதெய்வக் கோயிலுக்கு, நாம் பக்தி என்கிற ஒன்றை அறிவதற்கு முன்பே, நம் தாய் தந்தையரால் அங்கு கொண்டு செல்லப்பட்டு, வணங்க வைக்கவும் படுகிறோம். இதன்படி பார்த்தால், குலதெய்வ சந்நிதியில் சென்று நாம் நிற்கும் போது, நம் பரம்பரை வரிசையில் போய் நிற்கிறோம். இந்த வரிசைத் தொடர்பை வேறு எங்காவது, எந்த விதத்திலாவது உருவாக்க முடியுமா?"

- மகா பெரியவர் சொல்லச் சொல்ல, பர்மாக்காரரிடம் பரவசம்!

அது மட்டுமல்ல. ஒரு மனிதனின் பிறப்புக்குப் பின்னே இப்படியொரு பரம்பரை வரிசை இருப்பதை நினைக்கக்கூட தெரியாமல், அதிகபட்சம் இரு பாட்டன் பாட்டி பேருக்கு மேல் தெரியாமல் அல்லவா நம் வாழ்க்கைப் போக்கு உள்ளது?

"ஒரு குடும்பத்தைப் பொருத்தவரையில் அந்த இறைசக்தி குலதெய்வமாக, அவர்களுக்கான ஒரு பெயரில் வெளிப்படுகிறது. இப்படிச் சொல்வதுகூட தவறு. வெளிப்பட, வழிவகை செய்யப்பட்டது! அதுவும் யாரால்? நம் முன்னோர்களால்! அவர்கள் யார்? நம்முடைய தொடக்கங்கள்ஞ் நாம் யார்? அந்தத் தொடக்கத்தின் தொடர்ச்சி! மொத்தத்தில், நாம் வேறு அவர்கள் வேறு இல்லை."

இந்த வழிவழிப் போக்கில் ஒருவர் மூட்டை மூட்டையாகப் புண்ணியத்தைக் கட்டியிருக்கலாம். இன்னொருவர் பாவமேகூட பண்ணியிருக்கட்டுமே. நாம் அங்கே போய் நின்று நம் பொருட்டு பிரத்யேகமாக வெளிப்படும் அந்த இறைசக்தியைத் தொழும் போது, அவர்களும் பித்ருக்களாக விண்ணில் இருந்து பார்க்கிறார்கள். நாமும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுகிறோம்.

இது எத்தனை தூரப் பார்வையோடு, வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு விஷயம்?"

காஞ்சி- மகா பெரியவா விளக்கி முடிக்க, வந்திருந்த கூட்டம் சிலிர்த்துப் போனது.

Draupadi did not send a chariot inviting Lord Krishna to come to her rescue; she uttered the Lord’s Name in her deepest agony and Lord Krishna instantly responded, and saved her from imminent dishonour. In the Treta yuga, during the times of the Ramayana, architect Nala and his monkeys were building a bridge over the sea to Lanka; the boulders on which they inscribed the sacred name Rama, floated on the waters. But they found that the boulders floated away due to wind and wave. They did not form a continuous bridge for the army to pass over. Some wise person gave a suggestion to write ‘Ra’ on one boulder and ‘Ma’ on another and they found that the two stuck hard together. This works in this day and age too! Chant the Lord’s name continuously. It will serve as a bridge between you and Him; it will keep you focused on Him and bring on you His boundless Grace!

The home (griha) where the Lord’s Name is not heard is a dark cave (guha)! As you enter home, as you leave it, and while you are in it, perfume it, illumine it and purify it with His Name. Light it as a lamp at dusk and welcome it at dawn as you welcome the Sun. That is the genuine Deepavali, the festival of lamps. Firmly believe that the Name is the boat which will help you cross the sea of worldly life. The Name is more efficacious than the contemplation of the Form. On this Deepavali Day, resolve to light the lamp of Namasmarana (chanting the Name of God) and place it at your doorstep, the lips. Feed it with the oil of devotion, let steadiness be the wick. Let the lamp illumine every minute of your life. The splendour of the Name will drive darkness from outside you as well as from within you. You will spread joy and peace amongst all who come near you.

The human being is a composite of man, beast and God, and in the inevitable struggle among the three for ascendency, you must ensure that God wins, suppressing the merely human and the lowly beast. This festival of Deepavali is to express gratitude at the defeat of the demonic tendencies in man, which drag him down from Divinity. Naraka means hell, and Narakasura is the demon whose death at the hands of Krishna is celebrated on this day. He is the personification of all the traits of character that obstruct the upward impulses of man. How did he meet his end? He died with the vision of Lord Krishna. This Consummation is truly admirable. Remind yourself that you must aspire for the destruction of demonic qualities in this very birth. This is the true spirit of Deepavali.

Once you have the taste of selfless love, you will see the world in its real form. Therefore, truly become embodiments of love. Let love flow incessantly from your heart. Immerse yourself in the flow of love. Out of love, emerges truth and righteousness. Speak the truth, practice righteousness. Truth and righteousness are the two pillars on which the mansion of human life rests. Adore love. Live in love. There is no greater education than this. Traverse the path of love. Partake of the food of love. It is not enough if you merely partake of love, you should also assimilate and digest it. Only then the essence of love will spread to every cell of your body giving you immense strength and wisdom.

There should be sweetness in your thought, word and deed. This is the true sign of a human being. There is love in you, but you are not able to express it in the proper way. You should fill your life with selfless love. There is nothing superior to love in this world. Human beings are considered to be most sacred because they have the unique quality of love in them. But you are not able to realize the value of human birth. God incarnates in human form in order to spread the message of selfless love. Once you have selfless love in your heart, you can conquer the whole world.

Develop love. This is more important than your worldly education. Love is life. Not merely that, Love is light. It illumines your path and helps you reach the goal. Your journey of life will be safe and secure when you carry the light of love with you. You will never find darkness. Fill your heart with love. Love is God. Live in love. This is what you have to learn today.

You should treat your fellowmen as your own brothers. You deserve to be called a human being only when you cultivate the spirit of unity. Where there is no unity, there you will find enmity and hatred. Subsequently, the principle of love is lost altogether. There should be unity and love not only among brothers but also between the husband and wife, and all relationships within the family. Your foremost duty is to share His love with others. Only then can you realise the significance of the noble dictum: “Brotherhood of man and fatherhood of God”. But, unfortunately, such idealism is not found today. Even if you do not believe in the fatherhood of God, but you must have faith in the brotherhood of man; practice it and experience bliss therefrom. Our country, Bharat will regain its pristine glory only when we achieve such unity.
