Lord Krishna demonstrated that if you practise the spiritual exercise of living in the constant presence of God, you are bound to achieve victory. Take Him as your charioteer; He will steer you through the heaviest of odds. He has no favourites or rivals. Like fire, He spreads warmth to all near Him. If you do not feel the warmth, do not blame Him: blame yourself! Hiranyakashipu said, 'He is nowhere' and so, God was nowhere for him; Prahlada asserted 'He is everywhere,' and He appeared from the pillar to prove him true. God did not run into the pillar to come out of it! He was there all along, just as in everything else! He just made Himself visible! I am also like that; if you accept Me and say yes, I too respond and say, “Yes, yes, yes”! If you deny and say, no, I also echo, “no”. Come, examine, experience and have faith; that is the best way to profit from Me.

I will tell you today what is beneficial to you, which you must put into daily practice. Develop renunciation with regards to your own needs and wishes. Examine each on the touchstone of essentiality. When you pile up things in your apartment, you only promote darkness and dust; so also, do not collect and store too many materials in your mind. Travel light. Have just enough to sustain life and maintain health. The pappu (dish of lentils) must have only enough uppu (salt) to make it relishing; do not spoil the 'dal' with extra salt. Life becomes difficult to bear, if you add too much desire to it. Limit your desires to your capacity and amongst them, choose those that grant lasting joy. Do not run after fashion and public approval and strain your resources. Stick to your own code of rules that regulate your life based on your spiritual progress. Place the needs and joys of others first, as more important than yours!

Everyone is now seeking comfort and pleasure; that seems to be the be-all and end-all. If you tell people that they can eat whatever they like and as much as they like, they are delighted; if you add that they might develop, as a consequence, some illness or other, they will treat you as an enemy! No regimen or control is popular. But strength is derived only from control, from restraint and regulation. People become tough and capable of endurance only if they welcome hardships. Struggle, and you get the strength to succeed. Seek the basis for the seen in the unseen. The tall skyscraper has a deep base reaching into the earth. This seen world has as its base the unseen Paramathma (Supreme Lord)! Your body is the god-gifted instrument through which you can search, investigate, and discover that base

You might say that the karma from previous birth must be consumed in this birth and that no amount of grace can save you. Evidently someone has taught you to believe so. I assure you, you need not suffer from karma like that. When severe pain torments you, the doctor gives you a morphine injection (pain-killer), and you do not feel the pain though it is there in your body. Grace is like morphine; the pain is not felt, though you go through it! Grace takes away the malignity of the karma which you undergo. Just like dated drugs are declared ineffective after a certain date, with Grace, the effect of karma is rendered null, though the account is there! Hence, it is wrong to say the ‘Lalata likhitam’ (fate written on the forehead) cannot be rendered ineffective. Grace can surpass anything; nothing can stand in its way. Remember, it is the grace of the ‘All-mighty’!

In the present times, there is none fully good, and so who deserves the protection of God? All are tainted by wickedness! Will anyone survive if God decides to uproot evil? Therefore I have to correct the buddhi (intellect) by various means; I have to counsel, help, command, condemn and standby as friend and well-wisher to all, so that they may give up evil propensities, recognise the straight path, tread it and reach the goal. I have to reveal to the people the worth of the Vedas and the scriptural texts, which lay down the norms. The easiest path to self-realisation is the surrender of the ego. Arjuna surrendered and so the war he was engaged in was transformed into a yajna, a sacrifice! Daksha performed a yajna, but was so full of egoism and chose not to surrender! So his yajna was transformed into a war filled with hate. Do not pit your tiny ego against the Almighty; leave it to His Will and you will enjoy lasting peace.

Embodiments of the Divine Self! You are celebrating today as the Birthday of Swami, and deriving divine bliss (ananda) through various programs carried on with enthusiasm; but in fact, I have no wish to consider this as a special day! Such desire, does not exist in Me at any time, in this or any other sojourn. I need nothing, however great or small, in this Universe! I have come with one purpose: To reveal to everyone of you the mystery of your reality and the goal of your life! What you should place before Me as offering is Pure Love from within. When you offer Me that, I derive Ananda! From today, spend your days and years in activities that help and care for those who are in dire need, and make this human existence of yours worthwhile and fruitful. Conduct yourself appropriately and realise the goal of your life. My blessings to you!

It is essential for students to understand why morality and spirituality have disappeared from society. Education without character, science without human values, commerce without ethics, and politics without truth are responsible for the erosion of virtue. Students have a duty to develop patriotism and restore these forgotten values. Today’s education makes one clever but does not instill virtue. Students transform their heads (mastakam) into books (pustakam) without practising human values. There is no benefit in turning your head into a book or vice versa. Recognise the path of Truth and demonstrate it in day-to-day living. The world needs people imbued with integrity. All that is learned must culminate in behaviour. Life today is based on show, expenditure, and comfort. Humanity’s problems can be solved not by money or science but by humanity alone. People must transform themselves to live as human beings.

Sanctify your life by developing sense control. It is only because people have no control over their senses and no limit to their desires that there is a lot of unrest and agitation in society. Many people roam about in society like animals. You should not become so. Whenever some evil thoughts arise in you, you should remind yourself that you are a human being and not an animal. Anger is an animal quality. When animals get angry, they fight with one another. Unfortunately, today human beings are also fighting among themselves like animals. Animals have a reason and a season, but human beings have no reason, no season and behave worse than animals. Being a human being, you should cultivate human qualities and do not get angry! Even if anger overpowers you, you should try to become calm and quiet. Do not lose your cool. When you cultivate calmness, you will never become agitated and restless.

Change the angle of your vision. When you practice seeing the world from the point of view of the omnipresence of the Divine, you will be transformed. You will experience the power of the Divine in everything in creation. You cannot hide anything from God. Many imagine that Swami does not see what they are doing. They do not realise that Swami has a million eyes. Even your eyes are divine. But you are not aware of your true nature. When you have faith in yourself, you will have faith in God. Realise that there is nothing beyond the power of God. Love God with that supreme faith. Then you will be drawn towards God. It needs purity. A magnet cannot attract a piece of iron covered with rust. Similarly, God will not draw to Himself an impure person. Hence, change your feelings and thoughts and develop the conviction that God is everywhere and in every being.

Anger breeds danger. - Baba

You build a house and install doors in it, isn’t it? After installing doors in your house, will you allow animals and reptiles like donkeys, pigs, snakes and scorpions to enter your home, just because the doors are there? No! Even if they try to enter, you will drive them away and close the door, isn’t it? Similarly control the door of your heart. If you close the door of your heart to evil qualities, they cannot enter. You should not get angry with anyone, nor criticise or harm anyone. If, for any reason, such circumstances arise, control yourself. When anger overtakes you, put it down immediately considering it as your worst enemy. It is said: ‘Anger is your enemy, patience is your shield of protection, and happiness is your heaven’. Fill your heart with love and compassion. When you fill your heart with love, you will see God everywhere. Bereft of love, you will see only devils everywhere!

Ladies’ Day is celebrated on this day in order to delve into the sacred qualities of women and disseminate them. Though the Earth is one, the plants vary depending upon the seeds sown. The womb of the mother symbolises Mother Earth. As is the seed of thought sown in it, so is the fruit that it yields. So the mother should foster good thoughts, words and deeds. Only then can she beget virtuous children. Aryamba was a paragon of virtues. She spent all her time in the contemplation of God and in undertaking noble deeds. As a result, Sankaracharya was born to her. Sankaracharya could become Jagadguru (world teacher) because of his mother’s virtuous thoughts. Noble souls like Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa could attain exalted positions in their lives only due to the sacred feelings of their mothers. It is because of the feelings of the mother that the children become good or bad. It is because of such women that the children take to the path of righteousness.

Truth is unchangeable, irrespective of time and place. Wherever you are, truth is truth, love is love! If you have love, truth will automatically become part of you and vice versa. You are all born with love. But unfortunately, as you grow up, the selfless love in you gradually starts declining, and hatred and jealousy begin to increase. Jealousy is a very bad quality. It will not only harm others, but also will cause harm to you as well. Hence do not ever give scope for such evil qualities to germinate within you. Strive to cultivate good qualities like love and truth. Only then can you experience uninterrupted peace. When you develop the firm faith that God is in you and you are God and that your body itself is the temple of God, then there will be no scope at all for anger, jealousy, pride, etc., to trouble you. Hence beloved ones, develop love and compassion.

Your life is a long journey. You should have less luggage (desires) in this journey of life. Therefore, it is said: ‘less luggage more comfort, makes travel a pleasure’. You have many desires. What do you get out of them? There are rules for ceiling with regard to land and property. But is there any rule you observe to exercise a ceiling on your desires? Ceiling on desires is the need of the hour today. It means exercising control over your own desires. You can be truly happy only when your desires are controlled. You are under the mistaken notion that happiness lies in the fulfilment of desires. But in fact, happiness begins to dawn when desires are totally eradicated. Cut short your desires, day after day. When you reduce your desires, you advance very rapidly towards the state of renunciation, peace and bliss.

Today there is no love between elders and youngsters in the home; children do not revere parents. This moral decline will undermine unity and strength. Moral decline is worse than military decline; it will lead to greater disaster. If you always meditate on ‘mine and me’, how can you be useful to others? Sacrifice is the 'salt' of life; it’s the secret to peace and joy. 'Go' means the senses; so, the name 'Go-pala' (one of God’s names) means, he who controls the senses. And, why should they be controlled? So that they may not stand in the way of sacrifice. All the senses are self-centred and egoistic. They must be educated to be inward-directed, towards the Universal Atma. That is gained by entrusting the senses to Gopala (God). Everyone must pass through sat-karma or good deeds, into the realm of expanding Love and from Love, learn the lesson of sacrifice, dedication and surrender to the one Overlord.

*திடீரென்று சிறு நீர் அடைப்பு ஏற்பட்டால் என்ன செய்வது..???*

சமீபத்தில் ஒரு புகழ்பெற்ற அலோபதி மருத்துவரை ஒரு மருத்துவக் கட்டுரை விஷயமாக சந்தித்தேன். வயது 70களில் இருப்பவர்..

அவர் ஒரு ஈஎன்டி ஸ்பெஷலிஸ்டும் கூட! தனக்கு நேர்ந்த ஒரு பிரச்னை பற்றி அவர் பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட விஷயம் மிக ஆச்சர்யமாக இருந்தது..

அன்று காலை எழுந்தவுடன் அவருக்கு ஒரு பிரச்னை. சிறுநீர் போக வேண்டும் போல அவரின் அடி வயிறு முட்டிக் கொண்டு இருக்கிறது. ஆனால், போய் உட்கார்ந்தால் வரவில்லை. இந்த வயதில் இதுபோல் சிலருக்கு வராமல் கொஞ்ச நேரம் போக்கு காட்டுவது சகஜம், பிறகு முயற்சித்தால் வந்து விடும் என்பதால், சற்று நேரம் கழித்து முயற்சித்து பார்த்திருக்கிறார். அப்போதும் வரவில்லை. தொடர்ந்து முயற்சித்தும் சிறுநீர் வரவில்லை என்றதும் தான், ஏதோ பிரச்னை என்று புரிந்தது.

டாக்டராக இருந்தாலும், தசையும் ரத்தமும் கொண்ட மனிதர் தானே அவரும்! அடிவயிறு கனத்துப் போய், உட்காரவும் முடியாமல், நிற்கவும் முடியாமல் படு அவஸ்தையாக, ஒருவித பயத்துடன் இருந்த அந்த நிலையில், உடனே தனக்குப் பழக்கமான ஒரு சிறுநீரக இயல்துறை மருத்துவரை தொடர்பு கொண்டு பேசியிருக்கிறார்.

"நான் இப்போது புறநகர்ப் பகுதியில் ஒரு மருத்துவமனையில் இருக்கிறேன். பத்தரை மணி போல உங்கள் வீடு இருக்கும் ஏரியா அருகிலுள்ள மருத்துவமனைக்கு வந்துவிடுவேன். அதுவரை இன்னும் ஒன்றரை மணி நேரம் தாங்குவீர்களா?’’ என்று கேட்டிருக்கிறார் அந்த மருத்துவர்.

‘‘பொறுத்துப் பார்க்கிறேன்!’’ என்று அவர் சொன்ன அந்த நேரம் பார்த்து இன்னொரு போன்.

அது, அவரின் ஊர்க்காரரான (சுசீந்திரம் பக்கம்) இன்னொரு அலோபதி மருத்துவரிடமிருந்து வந்திருந்தது..

போன் பேசக்கூட முடியாதபடி, தன்னை பெரும் கஷ்டத்துக் குள்ளாக்கும் தன் பிரச்னையைப் பற்றி தன் சிறுவயது மருத்துவ தோழரிடம் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார் ஈஎன்டி மருத்துவர்.

‘‘ஓ.. சிறுநீர் சேர்ந்திருந்தும் வெளிவர வில்லையா கவலைப்படாதே.. சரி, நான் சொல்வது போல செய், வந்து விடும்!" என்றவர், அதற்கான இன்ஸ்ட்ரக்ஷன்களைத் தர ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்.

‘‘எழுந்து நின்று நன்றாகக் குதி... குதிக்கும் போது உன் ரெண்டு கைகளை அப்படியே மேலேயிருக்கும் மாம்பழத்தைப் பறிப்பது போல ஆக்சன் செய் இப்படி ஒரு பதினஞ்சு இருபது முறை செய்!’’ என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்.

என்னது! அடிவயிறு சிறுநீரால் தளும்பிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நிலையில் மேலே எழும்பிக் குதிப்பதா? என்று திகைத்தாலும், நண்பர் கூறினாரே என குதிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார். நாலைந்து முறைகூட குதிக்கவில்லை, அடைபட்டு இருந்த சிறுநீர் வெளிவர ஆரம்பித்து விட்டது. அப்படியொரு மகிழ்ச்சி அந்த ஈஎன்டி மருத்துவருக்கு!!

‘‘எத்தனை எளிமையாக என் பிரச்னையை தீர்த்தாய் நண்பா!’ என கொண்டாடி விட்டார்.

அவர் சொன்னார், ‘‘இந்தப் பிரச்னைக்குத் தான் மருத்துவமனையில் சேர்த்து, பிளாடரில், கதீட்டர் டியூப் எல்லாம் சொருகி, ஒரு புரசீஜர் செஞ்சு அதுக்கு ரூ. 50,000 போல சார்ஜ் செஞ்சிருப்போம்.

அதுக்கும் மேல ஆஸ்பத்திரி செலவுகள், ஆன்டிபயாடிக் மருந்துகள், ஊசிகள், முக்கியமா அலைச்சல்கள், மன உளைச்சல்கள் எல்லாம் சேர்ந்து செலவாகும்!

நண்பர் சொன்ன ஒரு சின்ன குதிப்பதில் இத்தனை செலவுகள் எனக்கு மிச்சமாச்சு!’’ என்றார் பெருமிதத்துடன

Without delving deep into the significance of all that happens around them, people lead superficial lives. If only people meditate on the reality of one’s own existence, knowledge and joy, they will establish firm contact with the Source of all existence, all knowledge and all bliss. Without taking the first step towards self-inquiry, how can one derive self-satisfaction, infinite power and wisdom? You have it in your power to make your days on earth a path of flowers, instead of a path of thorns. Recognise the Divine Resident in every heart and life will be smooth, soft and sweet. God will be the fountain of Love in your heart and in the hearts of all with whom you come in contact with. Adore everyone as you adore Sai. Allow the other person as much freedom as you like to enjoy; do unto them just as you would like to be done to you. That is the sum and substance of Sadhana.

Truth is God, Faith is God, Love is God; Live in Love. If only you cultivate these three, you can achieve anything. You may encounter any number of losses and difficulties in life. You may undergo a lot of suffering. But, you should never give up truth, faith and love. Loss, suffering and difficulties are like the waves in the ocean of life. They just come and go. But, the water in the ocean remains permanently. Hence, develop the faith of ‘water’, i.e., Divinity. Your thoughts are like passing clouds. Hence keep your faith firmly fixed on God. If you develop love and faith towards God, there is nothing in the world that you cannot achieve. By faith and love, you can even change the earth into sky and the sky into earth. The power of divine name is unparalleled. People often take it lightly. That is a mistake.

Akhanda Bhajan

There are two kinds of Bhajans - one is Khanda Bhajan, Bhajans done for a specific time or for a limited period, and the other is Akhanda Bhajan which involves constant contemplation on God in the morning, evening and even during the night - it is incessant contemplation on God during all the three states - the waking, dream and deep sleep. It is “sarvada sarvakaleshu sarvathra Harichintanam”, that is, to think of the Lord at all times and in all places. The divine name is highly potent. Each one of the several names of God has one type of power specific to it. If you wish to make good use of this power and derive lasting benefit out of it, you have to participate in Akhanda bhajan. You are most fortunate to participate in this Akhanda Bhajan. This is a great opportunity. If only you make good use of it, your life will be sanctified. The global Akhanda Bhajan is held only for this purpose every year.

கார்ப்பரேட்டுகளுக்கு கொடுத்த மக்கள் பணம் எப்படி வசூலிக்கப்படுகிறது?

8 கோடி ரூபாய் பாக்கி வைத்துள்ளது என டெக் மஹிந்த்ராவும் 1100 கோடி பாக்கி என எரிக்சன் நிறுவனமும் அனில் அம்பானி தலைமையிலான ரிலையனஸ் கம்யுனிகேசன்ஸ் மீது திவால் நடவடிக்கை வழக்கு பதிந்துள்ளன.

ரிலையனஸ் கம்யூனிகேசன்ஸ் மொத்த கடன் 45,000 கோடி. இதிலே 7,000 கோடிக்கு பாதி கம்பெனியையே விற்றுவிடுவதாக அனில் அம்பானி குழு தெரிவித்துள்ளது. 19,000 கோடியை கம்பெனியின் சொத்துக்களை விட்டு கட்டிவிடுவதாகவும் சொல்லி விற்பதற்கான வேலைகளை தொடங்கியுள்ளது.

ஜேபி இன்ப்ரா கம்பெனியின் 2,000 கோடி கடனுக்கு எல்லா சொத்துக்களையும் விற்று கடனை கட்டு என சுப்ரீம்கோர்ட்டே சொல்லிவிட்டது.

இப்போது ரிசர்வ் பேங்கே அந்த தகவல்களை அதிகார பூர்வமாக வெளியிடுகிறது. இதுக்குத்தான் ராஜன் வேண்டும் வேண்டும் என குதித்தார்களா?

கார்ப்பரேட்டுகளும் வேலை போகும், அதாகும் இதாக்கும் என மிரட்டியே மேலும் மேலும் மக்கள் பணத்தை கடனாக வாங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்ததும் இல்லை.

அதேபோல் இந்த நீதிமன்றத்திலே 4 வழக்கு அந்த நீதிமன்றத்திலே 10 வழக்கு என போட்டு 10 வருடமாக இழுத்தடிக்கும் வேலையும் கிடையாது.

தேசிய கம்பெனி சட்ட தீர்வாணையம் உடனுக்குடன் வழக்குகளை முடித்துவைக்கிறது. பத்து அமர்வுகள், 16 நீதிபதிகள் மற்றும் 6 தொழில்நுட்ப வல்லுனர்களை கொண்ட தீர்வாணையம் தினமும் 200 மேற்பட்ட வழக்குகளை முடித்து வைக்கிறது.

கடனை வசூலிக்கமுடியாத சூழ்நிலை என்றால் வங்கிகளை கடனை அதை வசூலிக்கும் தனியார் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு விற்றுவிடலாம். அதன்பின்னர் அந்த இரண்டு கார்ப்பரேட் கம்பெனிகளும் கடனை கட்டினால் என்ன வசூலித்தால் என்ன வங்கிகளுக்கு வரும் பணம் வந்துவிடும்.

அடுத்த ஆறுமாதத்திற்குள் ஒட்டுமொத்த கடன் வசூலும் நடந்துவிடும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது என வல்லுனர்கள் சொல்கிறார்கள்.

இதனால் என்ன பலன் என கேட்கலாம். சும்மா கொடுத்த கடனை வசூலிக்க இப்படி ஒரு விளம்பரமா என.

இனி கடன் வாங்குவோரும் கடன் கொடுப்போரும் தைரியமாக வாங்கலாம் கொடுக்கலாம். ஏன்னா வழக்கு விசாரணை என 20 வருடம் பொழைக்கவும் விடாம சாகவும் விடாம செய்யும் சித்ரவதை கிடையாது.

லாபமா கடனை திரும்ப கட்டிவிடலாம். நட்டமா சொத்தை வித்து கடனை வங்கிகள் வசூலிக்கும். மேலைநாடுகளிலே சிங்கப்பூரிலே எப்படியோ அதே போல் இங்கும் சட்டம் தன் கடமையை செய்யும்.

சட்டம் அதன் கடமையை செய்வதையே பாராட்டவேண்டிய சூழ்நிலையிலே தான் நாம் 70 வருடமாக இருந்திருக்கிறோம் என்பதே நாட்டிலே ஏன் வறுமை இருக்கிறது, மழைக்கே மக்கள் அஞ்சும் சூழ்நிலை ஏன் என சொல்லும்.

அதன் பின்பு கம்பெனி நடத்த, ஆட்களை வேலைக்கு வைக்க பயப்படவேண்டியதில்லை. சிறு குறு தொழில்களுக்கு பெரும் முன்னேற்றமாக இருக்கும்.

The power of divine name is unparalleled. Once you seek refuge in the lotus feet of God, you should never give up. Wherever you go, the divine feet will protect you. If you install the divine name firmly in your heart, your life will become sanctified. That is true devotion (bhakti). That is your power (shakti). That will bestow liberation (mukti). It is only to make people realise this truth that the spiritual practice of akhanda bhajan is prescribed for devotees at least once in a year. The word ‘akhanda’ implies chanting the divine name non-stop for 24 hours. During Akhanda Bhajan you may go home for any purpose, for example, to take food. But continue to do namasmarana while attending to any work in your house. You may attend to all your needs, constantly remembering God while doing so. That is the essence of Lord Krishna’s message in the Gita, “Mam anusmara yuddhya ca” (keep Me ever in your mind and fight till the end).

மறுநாள் காலையில் எப்போதாவது போகும் வாக்கிங் என்கிற சம்பிரதாயம் அன்று காலை மெனக்கெட்டு செய்யத்தோன்றியது. தெருவில் நடந்தபோது எப்போதும் எதிரில் புன்னகைக்கும் இரண்டு மூன்று பேர் அன்று மட்டும் துர்முகி வருடத்தின் பெயரைப்போலவே துர்முகமாக களையிளந்து கடந்தனர். அவர்களைப் பார்த்ததிலிருந்து எனக்கு மனதில் ஒரு குறுகுறுப்பு... அதைத்தொடர்ந்து நடந்த நிகழ்வுகளையும் பார்த்த செய்திகளாலும் ஒரு உந்துதல் - பணமதிப்பிழப்பை ஏன் ஒரு சாரார் எதிர்க்கிறார்கள் என்பதை தெரிந்துகொள்ளவேண்டும் என்று... பயங்கரமான குழப்பத்தில் இருந்தவனுக்கு எதிர்ப்பவர்களது ஞாயங்கள் நான் எதிர்கொண்ட கீழ்கண்ட நிகழ்வுகள் புரியவைத்தன...

ஆனால் இந்த பணமதிப்பிழப்பால் எனக்கு ஒரு பைசா லாபமோ ஒரு பைசா நஷ்டமோ இல்லை... இந்த நடவடிக்கை எந்த அரசு எடுத்திருந்தாலும் என் நிலைப்பாடு இதுவாகவே இருந்திருக்கும்...

என் வாழ்க்கைச்சக்கரம் எப்போதும் போல இன்பதுன்பம் மாறிமாறி அடித்து சுழன்றுகொண்டிருக்கிறது.
பணமதிப்பிழப்பு ஒரு களையெடுப்போ அல்லது களேபரமோ - இப்போது...

- என் கணக்கில் காசிருந்தால் எந்த ஏடிஎம்-மிலும் எப்போது வேண்டுமானாலும் முன்பு போலவே பணம் எடுக்கமுடிகிறது.

- மாதம் முதல்வாரத்தில் வீட்டுக்கடன் தவணை வந்து பயமுறுத்துகிறது

- கீரைக்காரம்மாவிடம் கார்டு கொடுத்து கடுப்படிக்காமல் பேரம் பேசாமல் சில்லரை தொகை பணமாக கொடுக்கமுடிகிறது.

- அர்ச்சகருக்கும் உண்டியலுக்கும் பணமாக சமர்ப்பிக்கமுடிகிறது.

- மருத்துவர்கள் பணமாக கேட்கும் தொகையை பணமாகவே கொடுக்கமுடிகிறது.

ஆக, கூலிக்கு மாரடிக்கும் மாதாந்திர சம்பளக்காரனான என் வாழ்க்கை முறையில் குறிப்பாக சம்பாதிக்கும் முறை, செலவழிக்கும் முறை, கணக்கு சமர்ப்பிக்கும் முறை எதிலும் பெரிய மாற்றம் இல்லை. நிஜம் இவ்வாறிருக்க, சிலர் பணமதிப்பிழப்பை எதிர்மறையாக விமர்சிப்பது போல எனக்கு கூவத்தோன்றவில்லை..!

- காரணமில்லாமல் மெட்ரோ வாட்டர் வீட்டுகுழாயில் விநியோகத்தை மட்டுப்படுத்தி விட்டு டேங்கர் லாரி சப்ளையில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கில் ரொக்கமாக பில் இல்லாமல் தொழில் நடக்கிறது. இப்படி இன்னும் பல...

இவற்றையும் களைய இந்த அரசோ இனி வரும் அரசோ மீண்டும் ஒரு முறை பணமதிப்பிழப்பை கொண்டுவந்தாலும் தகும். அதனால் பாதிக்கப்படப்போவது நானோ என் போன்றோரோ இல்லை...

என்னால் பழயதையும் கழிக்கமுடிந்தது புதியதையும் ஏற்கமுடிந்தது... எந்த விதமான மூச்சுத்திணறலின்றி...!

Thought for the Day

There is no use counting seconds and minutes while doing namasankirtan (act of singing God’s name) thinking, ‘I have done namasankirtan for so many minutes and so many seconds’. Meera sincerely prayed to Lord Krishna, “Swami, I delved deep into the ocean and could get the pearl of Your divine name. Let not this valuable pearl slip from my hand and drop back into the ocean. Having been born in this world, let me sing the glory of the divine name constantly and sanctify my life!” Some people participating in bhajan say, “Today I am not well. I have a sore throat due to cough and cold. I am not able to sing.” True, you may be suffering from cold and cough. But, you can sing within yourself, surely. Do it. That will give you sufficient strength. The divine name is very sacred.

For, those who spread falsehoods about Me derive joy therefrom; I am happy that I am the cause for their exultation and joy! You too must accept this line of argument and be very happy when someone derives joy by defaming you. Do not respond by defaming that person; then, the chain of hatred will bind both and drag both of you down. Life will become a tragedy. Conquer anger by means of fortitude; conquer hatred by love. பண மதிப்பிழப்பு இமாலய நடவடிக்கை: அருண் ஜேட்லி பெருமிதம்

ஒராண்டுக்கு முன் எடுக்கப்பட்ட பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கை இந்திய பொருளாதார வரலாற்றில் இதுவரை இல்லாத இமாலய நடவடிக்கை, இந்த மூலம் அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு நேர்மையான, நியாயமான வாழ்க்கை முறை கிடைக்கும் என மத்திய நிதியமைச்சர் அருண் ஜேட்லி கூறினார்.

பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி, கடந்த ஆண்டு, நவம்பர் மாதம், பழைய 500 - 1000 ரூபாய் நோட்டுகள் செல்லாது என அறிவித்தார். கறுப்புப் பணத்தை ஒழிப்பதற்காக இந்த நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டதாக மத்திய அரசு அறிவித்தது. கள்ளப் பணம் மற்றும் தீவிரவாதிகளுக்கு எதிரான நடவடிக்கை எனவும் மத்திய அரசு வர்ணித்தது..

பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட நவம்பர் 8-ம் தேதியான நாளை ஒராண்டு ஆகும் நிலையில், அன்று கறுப்புப் பண ஒழிப்பு தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப் போவதாக மத்திய அரசு கூறியுள்ளது.

இந்நிலையில் பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கையின் ஒராண்டையொட்டி மத்திய நிதியமைச்சர் அருண் ஜேட்லி கூறியதாவது:

''ஒராண்டுக்கு முன் எடுக்கப்பட்ட பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கை இந்திய பொருளாதார வரலாற்றில் இதுவரை இல்லாத இமாலய நடவடிக்கை. கறுப்புப் பணத்தை ஒழிப்பது, அதிகமானோரை வரி வளையத்திற்குள் கொண்டு வருவது, ரொக்கப் பணத்திற்கு பதிலாக ரொக்கமில்லா பண பரிவர்த்தனையை ஊக்குவிப்பது உள்ளிட்ட நோக்கங்களுடன் பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.

இதன் மூலம் நாட்டின் பொருளாதாரம் மற்றும் வரி செலுத்தும் முறை நேர்மையானதாகவும், வெளிப்படை தன்மையுடனும் மாறும்.

பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கையின் பயனை பற்றி பலரும் கேள்வி எழுப்புகின்றனர். ஆனால், அடுத்த தலைமுறை இதை நன்கு உணர்ந்து கொள்ளும். நேர்மையான, நியாயமான வாழ்க்கை முறை கிடைக்கும். பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சியின் சிறப்புகளை உணர்ந்து அவர்கள் பெருமை கொள்வர்.

பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கைக்குப் பின், ரொக்கப் பணத்தின் புழக்கம் 3.89 லட்சம் கோடியாக குறைந்துள்ளது. ரொக்கப் பணப் புழக்கம் குறைவதன் மூலம் கறுப்புப் பணப் புழக்கம் குறைந்துள்ளது.

15.28 லட்சம் கோடி ரூபாய் திரும்பி வந்துள்ள நிலையில், சட்டவிரோத பண பரிமாற்றம் தொடர்பாக நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. 1.6 லட்சம் கோடி ரூபாயில் இருந்து 1.7 லட்சம் கோடி ரூபாய் வரை சட்டவிரோதமாக பண பரிமாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டது குறித்து சிபிஐ உட்பட அரசின் பல கண்காணிப்பு அமைப்புகளும் விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகின்றன. கணக்கில் காட்டப்படாத 29,213 கோடி ரூபாய் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும் 56 லட்சம் தனிநபர்கள் புதிதாக வரி வளையத்திற்குள் வந்துள்ளனர். இதன் மூலம் வரி செலுத்துவோர் எண்ணிக்கை அதிகரித்து இருப்பதுடன் வரி வருவாயும் உயர்ந்துள்ளது. கார்ப்பரேட் நிறுவனங்கள் அல்லாமல் தனிநபர்களின் வருமான வரி அளவு 42 சதவீதம் உயரும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கையின் போது, 2.97 லட்சம் போலி நிறுவனங்கள் செயல்படுவது கண்டு பிடிக்கப்பட்டு அவற்றின் மீது நடவடிக்கை தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அவற்றில் 2.24 லட்சம் போலி நிறுவனங்களின் பதிவு ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. அவர்கள் மீதான நடவடிக்கையும் தீவிரப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

பண மதிப்பிழப்பு நடவடிக்கையால் ரொக்கமில்லா பணப் பரிவர்த்தனை அதிகரித்துள்ளது. டெபிட் கார்டு உள்ளிட்டவற்றின் மூலம் 3.3 லட்சம் கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்புள்ள 10 கோடி பணப் பரிவர்த்தனைகள் நடந்துள்ளன. இதுமட்டுமின்றி ஏழை, எளிய, கிராமப்புற மக்களும் தற்போது வங்க சேவையை பயன்படுத்துவது அதிகரித்துள்ளது.' கமலின் பயண விளைவு எப்படி? இவ்வாறு அருண் ஜேட்லி கூறினார்.

என்றவர்கள், வெள்ளைத்தோலன் கருத்தியல் ஓங்கி நிற்கும் உலக அமைப்புக்கள், இந்திய பொருளாதாரத்துக்கு நற்சான்றிதழ் தரும்போது, “ வெள்ளைத் தோலன் கருத்தியல் அமைப்புக்கள் தவறு செய்து விட்டன; அவர்கள் விலை போய் விட்டார்கள்”, என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.

பூனைகள், பட்டப்பகலில், ஒளிமிகுந்திருக்கையில், கண்ணை மூடிக் கொண்டு, "உலகம் இருண்டுவிட்டது", என்று சொன்னால், உலகம் இருண்டதாகிவிடது.

பூனைகளின் கண் அமைப்பு அப்படி, வெளிச்சத்தை தாங்காது.

அதுபோல, சிலருக்கு ஊழல் நிறைந்த கருப்பு பொருளாதாரம் மட்டுமே சிறப்பான பொருளாதாரமாக தெரியும்.

வெளிப்படையான செயல்பாட்டுடன், அனைவரையும் அரவணைத்து உயரும் பொருளாதாரத்தை பார்க்கவோ, உணரவோ, சிலருக்கு திறமில்லை.

உணரவே முடியாமல், ஊழலில் திளைத்து, மனம் மரத்துப் போனவர்கள், நல்லதை பாராட்ட முடியாமல், வசை பாடுவதை புரிந்து கொள்ள முடிகிறது.

“நீண்ட காலத்தில் நாமெல்லோரும் செத்திருப்போம்” என்று பயந்து, அவசரம் அவசரமாக, ஊழல் செய்தோரை நம்பி, மென்மேலும் ஏமாறும் அப்பாவிகளை நினைத்தால்தான் பரிதாபமாக இருக்கிறது.

எது எப்படியாயினும், மோடிஜி அரசு, " நீகாநாசெ ஊழல்வாதிகளிடம், இன்றளவும் ஏமாந்து நிற்கும் அப்பாவி"களின் உயர்வுக்கும் சேர்த்தேதான் உழைக்கிறது.

You must become your own tutor. Train yourself by using the spark of wisdom that has been implanted in you. Once you try with all your might, the Lord’s Grace will be there to help you forward. The first step in spiritual discipline is to cleanse your speech. Talk sweetly without anger. Do not boast of your scholarship or attainments. Be humble and eager to serve. Conserve speech and practice silence. It will save you from squabbles, idle thoughts and factions. Practice the attitude of joy when others are joyful and of grief when others around you are sad. Let your heart move in empathy. But the joy and grief have to be translated into service; they should not be mere emotions. When the sun rises, not all lotuses in the lake bloom; only the grown buds open their petals. Others await their time. It’s the same with people. Differences exist because of unripeness, but remember, all fruits will ripen and fall someday. Every being reaches its goal, however slow they walk or circuitous their road is!

Do not get involved in the mesh of ‘I and mine’. As soon as your ego is suppressed, that very moment two consequences immediately will follow: freedom from grief and acquisition of joy! To achieve this great consummation, you must take one step after another persistently. Good deeds like ritual worship, repetition of holy names, meditation, observance of vows, etc., are the essential 'steps'! Good thoughts like prayer for greater discrimination, more chance to serve others, etc. will help you immensely! Slowly and steadily cleanse your mind, sharpen the intellect, purify the senses, and you will win grace. Treat the old and the sick that are amidst you with some special care. Those of you who are young and sturdy, comfort them and give them the chances they deserve. Observe the disciplinary rules that are prescribed for your sake and be benefited! You have come to the Lord, prompted by Love (prema); cultivate it assiduously and live in that love.

You see death snatching away persons from all around you, but you do not train yourself to meet it calmly, bravely, and gladly when it comes to you. Majority of people get glimpses of discrimination and detachment off and on, but they soon forget the call, ignore it or cover it up with excesses or excuses. One step forward and one step back — the journey does not take them far. Even if some do take up spiritual practices, steadiness is absent. Like a ball of thread that slips out of the hand onto the floor, and comes off loose because the grasp is not firm, practices fade away. Only steady effort will bring success here, as in every other case. How can you expect quick success in the control of the mind? It is very difficult to overcome its vagaries, for it is many-faced and very adamant. Steady perseverance alone will tame your mind, and it is only through a tamed mind that you can experience God.

Meeting with fellow-pilgrims and kindred aspirants is a piece of rare good fortune. Every one of you is a temple, with the Lord installed in your heart, whether you are aware of it or not. The Lord is described in the Purusha Sukta scripture as ‘thousand headed’. It does not mean that He has just thousand heads and no more, no less. It means that the Lord is present in thousands of heads as just one loving heart, and gives life and energy to all! None of you must consider yourself separate from others; all of you are bound by the one same life-force, the same blood that flows through countless bodies. This is a precious message, a very special teaching of the Eternal Religion (Sanatana Dharma), which most of you have unfortunately forgotten. This is what the world needs today! Attach yourself to God fervently. Then all people on all days will be holy and special to you!

The root-cause of all troubles is the uncontrolled and ill-directed mind. Like the river Godavari in floods, the mind rolls along, causing slips and slides and devastating vast areas on both banks. Discrimination and non-attachment are the two banks that tame the mad energy of the flood (your mind) and lead the raging waters into the sea (Divinity), which is really the destination they seek. None of you should make any attempt to run away from the duties of your station and status. Instead, remember to do those duties as worship, as offerings of your intelligence, skill, qualities, and thoughts and feelings to the feet of the Lord in a spirit of thankfulness for the chance given, without any trace of egoism or a sense of attachment to the fruits of the actions. Obligatory actions must be carried out, wherever you are, with care and sincerity. When you do so, they bestow upon you with the much-needed discrimination and non-attachment.

God has endowed you with a body and so every limb and sense-organ is worthy of reverent attention. Each must be used for His glory. The ear must exult when it gets a chance to hear the wonderful tales of God. The tongue must exult when it can praise Him. Else, your tongue is as effective as that of frogs on the marshy bank which croak day and night! An animal (pasu) fears; a beast (mriga) terrifies! Being afraid of someone or something is an animal tendency and bullying others is a demonic tendency. You should have neither! Your human body is gifted to you for a grand purpose – to realise the Lord within. If you own a fully loaded car in good running condition, would you keep it in the garage? Would you not drive it to where you need to go? So too, learn to use the faculties of body, senses, intellect, and mind, and achieve your goal!

In all countries the emphasis is on the standard of life, not on the quality of living. Once you turn towards the path of worldly happiness, you will be led on and on to greater and greater discontent, competition, pride and jealousy. Just stop for a moment and examine your own experience; whether you are happier when you grow richer, and whether you get more peace as and when your wants are satisfied. Then you will bear witness to the truth that an improved standard of living is no guarantee of happiness. Neither do education, the mastery of information or the acquisition of skills guarantee mental equanimity. As a matter of fact, everywhere you find the educated man more discontented and more competitive than the uneducated. So the re-establishment of righteousness (dharma), is the urgent need in all parts of the world today.

Do not yield to the snares of friends or society or miscalled social conventions and become prey to smoking and other such bad habits. They destroy health, happiness, energy and even charm. Smoke disfigures your face and denigrates your lungs. It debilitates you and makes you diseased. The body is the temple of the Lord; keep it in good and strong condition. This skeletal cage or body is the Hasthinapuram, where we have the blind king, Dhritarashtra, the symbol of ignorance, as well as Yudhistira, the symbol of wisdom. Let the forces of Yudhistira win with the help of Sri Krishna. Let the tongue, accustomed to the bitterness of the margosa fruit of worldly triumphs and disasters, taste the sweet honey of remembering the Lord’s name. Experiment with this and you will be surprised at the result. You can feel the vast improvement in peace and stability in you and around you. Learn this easy lesson, get immersed in joy, and let others also share that joy with you.
