Thought for the Day

Our first task is to recognise our duty. We should not keep thinking whether it will lead to victory or failure. It is one’s duty to make an attempt; the success or failure of the attempt should be left to God. If we develop this attitude, we will not be troubled by successes or failures. All students want to succeed in their examinations. They must recognise that the effort (sadhana) is more important than success itself. More than dreaming that you should succeed, it is very important for you to put in your effort. Ask yourself: You desire great results, but are you putting in appropriate efforts? If you put in appropriate effort, then, you need not worry about the result. Even if by some bad luck you do not get what you desired, you need not feel sorry for it, because you did put in your efforts! Develop this mental stability and equal-mindedness through which you neither feel elated nor depressed.
